Rick E. Martin
Although Rick comes to us from the Raleigh area where he’s lived for the past 20 years, he hails from the coal mining region of upstate Pennsylvania where his family of origin were farmers and ranchers. His love for the land and the outdoors were instilled upon him from his father at the very young age of 4. Rick fondly remembers going to stay in log cabins, on a lake, in the mountains and fishing with his father.
Rick’s passion for the outdoors has been nurtured and has grown throughout his life. Being an avid and livelong fisherman, the abundant waters of the WNC mountains were calling him to check off yet another bucket list item by learning the art and science of fly fishing…..through practical application of course.
As he “rounds third base” in his career, Rick is living his dream job and is also crazy about land! Dream Job 101: Helping people explore, process and transition to sell their family land while at the same time, helping others to fulfill their life long dreams of buying mountain land and experiencing the mountain living lifestyle.
Rick continues to seek to fulfill and check off his biggest bucket list item of all….finding that waterfront mountain property paradise in the WNC mountains and build his own composite Log Cabin /Timber Frame home. The look and feel of the land and the design/construction of the grounds and cabin are a very recognizable vision he’s been questing for his whole life. The end result will be a dream come true and in the “circle of life” leave a legacy to his son, whom he introduced at 4 years old to log cabins, on the water, in the mountains…..and fishing of course! In his spare time Rick enjoys visiting family, hanging out with friends, learning the AVL craft beer scene, exploring the WNC hiking trails, morning meditation & coffee, reading his kindle, going to the movies and those Philadelphia Phillies & Eagles.
